1970 - Hill 5 of Prelims Heat 6. SigNu's Hornet, being pushed by Kim Crossman, currently leads, with SAE's Arnold close behind (and using the bump-and-run technique). SigNu would ultimately DQ, and DU's Captain America crashed prior to this point of the race.

1970 Prelims Heat 1 TDP bike vs. DU "Flying Door" (note how far behind it is) vs. TX's feet first "Xiclone." The "Flying Door" screamed around the course, finishing with a time of 4:10.

1970 - Fringe's Baby Leroy leads ATO B's Whale in Prelims Heat 2. ATO led in the freeroll, but a pushbar failure, plus Fringe's lightweight design, allowed Fringe to win the heat.

1970 - DU's Captain America (Lane 3) competes against SAE's Arnold (Lane 1) and SigNu's Hornet (Lane 2) in Prelims Heat 6 (courtesy of Rick Holt). Captain America was using 4 wheels on this part of the course, but it ultimately crashed and earned a DNF
